Happy Groundhog Day! Groundhogs are a lot more important than we give them credit for. Not only do they predict the next six weeks of weather but they also work tirelessly to improve soil wherever they live. Their burrows provide incredible housing to other animals when they are abandoned. In general, they are incredibly helpful to our ecosystem. Every ecosystem needs a groundhog and in the school ecosystem that role is played by coaches. Coaches work tirelessly to provide nutrients to all the teachers through their coaching and professional development offerings. They also develop incredible environments for data talks in their coaching classrooms and when they leave to go to another school, that wonderful data room is typically left behind for other coaches to enjoy. So, on this beautiful Groundhog Day, take some time to hug a coach! Let them try to figure out why you did :)
